NARI MN now is accepting online entries for its annual Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards, according to Executive Director Nick Cichowicz.
Content Craftsmen is available to create and manage local/regional/national entries for Minnesota remodelers and landscape designers between now and the October 9 deadline. However, existing clients are encouraged to contact Tom Sweeney as soon as possible to reserve their categories.
Important 2015-16 CotY Changes
- NARI MN will accept entries in all of the national NARI categories and add 3 categories of its own (including Universal Design and projects <$15K).
- The new approach is likely to produce many more categories with fewer entries per category (including just one entry in some categories).
- Because of the potential for more single-entry categories, NARI MN will lower the bar for single- entry Gold winners. Last year, a single-entry project needed to score as high as the average of the multi-entry Gold winners to score a Gold. If it failed to meet the threshold, it earned a Silver award. This time the single-entry score will only need to be as high as the lowest multi-entry Gold score.
Nick says the new online entry tool will be better than the old OmniContests tool, making it even easier to enter at the state, regional and national levels.
With many more categories, expect even more winners at the annual Gala. As a result, NARI leadership is rethinking how it will approach the event to move things along at the new venue, the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis.
Only 10 chapters will be using the new online entry tool this year and mirroring the national rules. Both Minnesota and its reciprocal judging parter, Milwaukee, are among them.
